biography

Stephanie Gorman is the founder and driving force of Socialkraft, a unique support service for individuals with special socialization needs. In addition to her degree in Display and Exhibit Design, Stephanie holds an active licensure as an Oregon certified Speech and Language Pathology Assistant.    Her intervention strategies infuse a combination of techniques including:

  • TEACCH (structured teaching)
  • Floortime (Greenspan’s work)
  • ABA (Specific to learning readiness)

  • Custom Visual Supports

 

Throughout her career, Stephanie has used her skills in a variety of settings that include  local therapy clinics, early intervention programs, Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp, pre-school, elementary and middle schools, recreational services, and client homes.  Starting in the summer of 2009 Stephanie joined forces with Dr. Marie Mc Mahon and currently co-facilitataes social thinking and related skills groups year round.   

In addition to her individual and group work, Stephanie specializes in the creation of visual supports such as Social Stories™, picture exchange systems (PECS), choice boards, and play schedules. These tools can help increase communication, decrease challenging behaviors, establish routines, and illuminate the subtleties of social situations.

Stephanie lives in Milwaukie, Oregon, with her husband and daughter.
